  • Great news on the China trip - I wish her well with her application. Could you ask your DD to put some of your stuff on ebay/amazon/greenmetropolis/play.com and then she can have a cut of the profits (after fees etc.) I'll leave it for you to decide if you cut the profit 50:50 or give her 5% :p That way you get some cash and you get some help with decluttering.

You're doing so well on the debt-busting and the egg loan is reducing a treat. Sorry if I've missed it, but have you confirmed that you'll not have a student next year?

Sorry to hear about the pox in your house Shaun.

Have a good day everyone. :D

I will cash out I think, lucielle.....I have a note in my filofax to do so after the weekend.....

If DD gets to go to China, then she is going to be heavily involved in an ebay/carboot summer.......whilst the bag pack could be more lucrative financially, the ebay/carboot thing will help ME with the clearout I so desperately crave, so it will help motivate both of us - she gets the money towards the trip, and I get a bit of space cleared.

Given that I still have a garage full of "stuff" from my Dad's house too, I think this is an ideal opportunity to deal with it.

She is also going to make it known at the newsagents where she does her paper round, that she is available for holiday cover etc if others can't do their rounds.

China sounds wonderful, I would so love to go. There's a total eclipse visible from China later this year, I think its the longest total blackout this century, its got to be really spectacular.

Dooyoo - Pania, don't break it before I finally get to do it! :)

So......in true DFW stylee and in anticipation of DD going to China (ok, so I might be getting ahead of myself just a bit.....but better be prepared), DD has a grid - 240 squares at £5 a square :D

£5 a square is nice and manageable for her - she gets £5 for her Sunday paper round, gets paid in multiples of £5 for her babysitting, it is not a huge amount in terms of ebay/amazon selling, etc etc.....

Obviously, I am not expecting her to do all the work to get the money together, but I certainly expect a fair amount of input from her. She is very excited by the prospect of going, so I can't see there being too many arguments when I ask her to do a carboot with me etc....

    Hi there, and welcome!

If you click on the button at the top of the board where it says "New Thread" you can type your post and introduce yourself, let us know what you are trying to achieve etc, and then the great and the good of the MSE world will give you some help and support!

There are two boards in this bit - the diary one, which is where you are now, and another more general "debt free wannabe" one which is just below.

    Hope that helps!
