Can you help

I listed 5 of the same item on Buy it Now for £6 per item plus £2 P&P

Someone has bought all 5 but have only paid me £2 for the P&P instead of the £10

I emailed them and told them but they have replied

In your listing on eBay, you didn't put the additional charge for multiple items. During listing, you had the choice to enter the delivery cost for additional items, and since you didn't put anything, it is considered as no additional cost.

This buyer has got a feedback of over 8000.

What do I do?

Did you put anything in your listing about postage discounts? It sounds like he is taking the !!!!!!, he must have thought out his explanation before clicking to buy the items. Not too sure what you can do but im sure someone else will

If they purchased 5 items on BIN and postage is £2 for each item then they need to pay you £10 postage and packaging.

Technically the buyer is correct. On Dutch BIN items the format is post and packing per 1st item plus xx amount extra per additional item. If the additional item is left blank it shows as £0.00 so the invoice will assume no additional costs. It is shown on the initial listing page, but thinking back to my last Dutch BIN I think it would be possible for a seller to not see it properly if listing.

That is complete and utter rubbish.
Sellers do not have to make any reference to postage for multiple items at all if they don't want to - your buyer is trying it on.

Sellers can either have a reduced rate for multiple purchases, or not.
Sellers can offer a reduced postage cost for more than one item purchased, or not.
It is entirely upto the seller.

I'd mail them back and say something like this :

Thank you for your mail. With regards to postage costs for multiple items, I do not offer a reduced rate if a buyer purchases more than one item, nor do I have to offer a reduced rate.

Therefore, the amount to pay is £X which is (item x whatever + postage costs for each item) as shown on your invoice.

    Regards.....yada yada

You could offer them cheaper postage costs as they have bought more than one but that is entirely upto you.

If you do charge the postage for each item, then the only fair thing to do is to send each one seperately.

If you are intending to send them all together, then work out how much it will cost to send them all in one parcel.

This was a Dutch BIN though and the listing on Dutch BINs does show the cost of the first item seperately to the cost of all subsequent items bought.

    Soo

I see what you mean Soo, I've just looked on a listing with multiple BIN and it states :

    Postage Costs.gif

    Each Additional Items.gifServices Availables.gifDelivery Time*s.gifAvailable to£1.00s.gif+ £0.85s.gifRoyal Mail 1st Class Standards.gif1 to 2 working dayss.gifUnited Kingdom only

Basically if the OP had put £2 for postage costs and £2 for each additional item, then she would have been OK, but by leaving it at £0.00 it reads to any buyer that any additional items bought from the same listing would be free.

I've listed as OP has leaving additional at £0 before and have never had this problem, but I can see now how it could cause problems!

    Oh I understand now.

In this situation then the buyer has made a mistake and would have to offer all 5 items for £2
