As an estimate does anyone know, how long should it take to hear back from Abbey if you have been successful (or not)

I once applied for the Abbey Zero card and did not hear nothing back from them. After 20 odd says I rang and was told if I received no letters then to assume I was unsuccessful.
They said it normally takes 7-14 days to get an response.0
