Thanks for above info gratefully received.
I would really like to go away asap ie the next couple of weeks.. I am bereft of vitamin D and my chap needs to take holiday from work also his 30th birthday.
I understand what you say re seating though I do think that this relies heavily on people admitting their incapacities weakness's or even knowing that they have a disability at all ie undiagnosed. I have seen elderly people in just those seats who would be no better placed than I in an emergency. ditto insurance0 -
My MIL is elderly ,registered blind, and has mobility issues. If she were to go on holiday , I would highly reccomend Tenerife as a location . The climate is very suitable , the sea is warm and the facilities in Southern Tenerife eg Los Cristianos and Playa Das Americas would be ideal . The flight is four hours and we have seen lots of ground staff available to assist passengers with mobility problems . Some sun on your bones would do you the power of good along with some TLC . let us know where you deicde. HTH
Any hotel you are looking at , check with https://www.holidaytruths and https://www.tripadvisor . My advice would be if you are booking a package make sure that they know you need assistance , and seperately advise the hotel via email . Good luck0 -
Hi zoelife
Whilst I was browsing I found this holiday in egypt on offer from lastminute.com - its to Taba hights in Egypt at the Marriott and the facilities they describe and the location sound suitable and what you described you wanted - ok the flight is a little longer but this is a 5* hotel and might be worth considering at this price.

Hi, I have mobility and fatigue related problems.
The best tip I can give you is to take your own wheelchair. Many people don't understand that young, apparently healthy, people are genuinely disabled, the wheelchair helps them and you. And believe me, you will be so glad of it at the end of a long day travelling. You can hire one from the Red Cross for a returnable deposit of about £25 (most people let them keep it as a donation though). It made so much difference to my experience of travelling that I bought my own on e-bay and always use it at airports.
Re the resort - I've been to TABA and had a great time. It is in the middle of nowhere, so no good for clubbing or site-seeing
but great for a quiet sunshine break.
I went all inclusive at the Sheratton - the staff were wonderful and the complex easy to get around, ramps and sloping paths everywhere. When we got there we found they'd booked us into a second floor room with no lift, but they moved us to a sea front ground floor room with no fuss. There are some good deals there at the moment.
I can also recommend the Fortina Spa in Malta - more expensive but lots of lifts and easy to get round.
The Hotel Letoonia near Fethiye in Turkey is also very disabled friendly - but you do need to let the hotel know as you will need a room in the hotel - the bungalows are lovely but most are up 62 million steps! I think most packages there start in May, though.
Where ever you go, tell the travel agent that you are disabled and make your needs clear. Once the holiday is booked, I always contact the airline and the hotel directly, as a precaution.
Good luck and have a great time!!I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
