How long have builders got to fix snags?

Hi,
We have been living in our new build house since last June. So the house is still under warranty with the builder 'Persimmon'. We have several snags that I have informed them of over a month ago and all they have done is say that they have informed the relevant people to get them fixed. I have heard nothing now for 3 weeks. They dont respond to e-mails. How long has a builder got to fix snags? Is there a time limit anybody knows about?
I am on the brink of taking legal advice, but dont really want to due to the expense!
Thanks in advance
Peter
P.S. Never get tempted to buy a house from Persimmon, they are utter cowboys!

they must be very busy now Peter..
or maybe they got noone in the offices and no builder on the books.
I think '' letter before action'' is a free and easy way of moving things a bit.. look on google for a template and send recorded delivery
then slap up a '' statutory of demand '' form from google
fill and send ... to this stage im sure they ll reply to you.
as the next stage is '' winding up pettition'' you ll need a litigation solicitor for that to fill but hopefully till the last stage its a bit hard.
i am owed money from a company with no emails phones to reply and as soon as i done the 2 of the baove, they arranged a metting ..
as much as i am aware now, winding up petition can be done for as little as 750 quid, and even a massive company will at least take a notice of that0 -
Take heart Peter, a few years ago a former work colleague bought a brand new Persimmon home which had literally dozens of snagging faults. I've heard complaints about them from other owners, they're probably not the only builder who housebuyers have problems with, but they must be in top 5!!If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
