Erratic touchpad!

Does anyone else have a laptop with a Synaptics touchpad? My FujitsuSiemens has this, but it is very erratic - it often jumps around the screen and keeps re-setting itself to "tapping on" which I don't want! I have the latest driver from the FS site.
