All done!
Sheesh I am worn out, that was tough going but only because of the nature of the call - the examiner I spoke to was absolutely lovely.
No question about my SOA at all except christmas presents which weren't allowed, and that my mortgage was quite high. Still not enough surplus for an IPA though. Might be paying my tax to them instead, but she wasn't sure and had to check - not that that makes a difference to me anyway, I don't mind who I pay it to!
Car is going to be recommended that it is exempted because I need it for work - no question there. The only thing that might affect that is its value, but she said generally as long as it comes in under 4k she doesn't see it being a problem at all, as it'd not be worth realising the value with their disposal costs etc. So good news there
House - going to send me a letter about buying the BI - she did confirm though that if I did buy the BI (she said I could if I wanted, they've got no problem with a bankrupt doing it) any future mortgage shortfall would not be covered, so that clears up that question that a number on here were having. I need to get a valuation done on it, but if it comes back that it's in negative equity it will be offered to me straight away as apparently they are not sitting on them any more due to the sheer number of cases that are starting to come in. So good news there too
A BRU was mentioned as a lot of the credit is quite recent and it could be argued that I took it on with no intention to pay it back, but she said it may not happen, just something to be aware of. Not the end of the world if it does happen I suppose - I was pretty honest about spending far in excess of my means and she wasn't judgemental at all.
So that's it I guess - waiting to hear for definite about the car but it's looking good, and waiting to get the letter about the house - don't think I could have asked for anything else could I?
Oh yeah, they're taking my watch too (I listed it, obviously), but that's hardly the end of the world is it!
Thanks to ALL of you for being so supportive in getting me to this point - I seriously couldn't have done it without you.
Cheers,

Good luck Sieve - you'll be fine - and you've probably had it by now xx
And have just read your details - very well done, what a relief that is all over, go and relax, have a pint, congratulations, you have come out of this.
Interesting about the mortgage and BI. Also about the BRU. When you think about it though, they must be incredibly busy at the moment, so maybe this will not go further, and they must have to take some short cuts.
All the best for your future debt free life. I can remember how I was ayear ago, and now is tremendous xxBankrupt 11th June 2008
