Asda vent

I've always enjoyed shopping in Asda stores, but that opinion's changed since I started home delivery, 4 orders, all of them with something horiffically wrong. Always select no subsitutions, and write in the comments 'Absolutly no subsitutions', and they always do.

Best subsitution is when I order 96 cans of cat food (400g per tin), and they send me 80 odd cat food pouches (100g in each), with "Its cheaper!" as a response, not really, its massievly lacking what we need, and they always get sent back. Other minor things often arn't too bad, and can be put up with, its the cat food that's a major thing.

Whenever I ever complain about my order, I get the usually "we'll give you free delivery next time", but it never happens, and now today, i'm waiting on a refund that was ordered over 2 weeks ago, but with easter, i'm not majorly annoyed over that just yet.

The thing that makes me laugh is when my disabled aunt I live with makes exactly the same order, with exactly the same comments, they never get it wrong.

I did email in a complaint, thinking I might get an apology or even them acknowledging something, but my response got back:
"I can confirm that we try our best to substitute nearest to the item ordered if the item isn't available at the time of picking. If you didn't request for substitutes we still try to substitute as we don't want our customers to go without the item." (there is more, but thats the main of it)
- whats the point of "No Subsitutions" if they're going to subsitute anyway o.O

As soon as I get my refund, thats it with me and Asda online, after last time, Sainsbury's were able to get a delivery to us next day, and they actually turnt out cheaper, so Sainsbury's all the way from here! Shame really, as I told Asda, I am happy to give them my money if they could just get one order correct.

Apologies, but I did need to vent >.<

    What a shame
Did you direct the complaint to head office ?
I'm sure they don't want to lose customers

I like to shop online but the substitution thing was a problem for me also

I once got an aubergine instead of an avocado ?
    Made for an interesting salad

I don't know any details for head office... and to be honest, I doubt they'd care, its only £50 a month they're losing, and to be honest, glad i've found Sainsbury's, nectar points as well, and our cats like the food, so its all good. Just really needed to get that rant off my chest :)

use mysupermarket.co.uk to shop through sainsburys as you will get ipoints on top of your nectar (or clubcard points if you use tescos)

I had a bad experience of asda a while back too when I ordered a dozen red roses for my partner on valentines day. 1 day after they were delivered half of them were dying and within 3 days the whole lot had to be thrown away. I complained and they wouldn't refund me as claimed they had no guarantee. complained again and eventually refunded half of what i paid and refused to refund the rest.

needless to say I would never order from them again after that!

really hate asda and they are such a con as work out more expensive than when we go to morrisons or even tesco.

I understand your rant completely. I gave up using Asda's online shopping facility after a similar catalogue of complaints.

I had rotten fruit delivered, half the things I ordered were always out of stock & finally after being charged a higher price than stated online for 2 jars of coffee & being kept waiting over 6 weeks for a refund, I gave them up as a bad job.

I found the customer service quite appalling, so am not surprised to find that you've had no satisfaction there either.

I hope your rant & the knowledge that others haven't had a smooth ride with Asda online have made you feel a little better.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

I've had really positive experiences with Sainsburys, very nice drivers, very good quality for the basics that I buy, and they actually do not substitute if you don't want them to - and that's brilliant for me.

Tescos were awful locally, I had some real problems. They would dump and run and we would play the 'what have we got delivered today' game - not always even the same shopping as on the list.

I do think it does depend on your local depot, however, as some are better than others.

Also, mysupermarket.com is really good as it does point you to the offers, and I am always willing to snap them up.
