Dry stone wall

We have a boundry wall at the bottom of our garden.
Some large blocks x 2 have been off the top of it for many years, the stones under neath it are lose some are missing.
Been told it`s a 2 man job to lift the top stones, for this ,plus small amount of new stone to build back up to level, and cement so it`s safe, can`t do with anything falling onto anyone-it`s onto the pavement.
Quote £120 what do you think?
Found chap repairing a dry stone wall up the road, so asked him to have a look.
Job he has done looks good.
Thanks

hi
it sounds ok to me.
we have had our dry stone walls repaired twice and it always seems to be a 2 man job. OUr neighbour is a dry stone waller and he always works in a pair.
Our first repair was simple - wall blew down in a gale and got repaired at £100 - £150 per metre.
The second was more complicated as an elctrical cable was running parallel to the wall on the ground and had to be turned off by the electricity board and the wall had fallen onto a (different) neighbours kitchen roof below. It had to be repaired quick before more fell and it was thick snow at the time. Scaffolding had to be put to enable the wall to be built safely due to the hight. (We have high terraced gardens), our insurance company payed but it cost £1000......
dry stone walling is skill that is being lost as farmers are going out of the business and no one is taking up drystone walling to replace them.
