This challenge used to run every week (thanks to Moozie and PAP) but I have not seen it in a while so I hope no one minds but I need this to keep me on track ...
Hello everyone
. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

Firstly apologies for the lateness in starting the new thread but I got around to it eventually.
I am aiming for £20 this week and see if I can get it down to a regular £10 in the coming weeks. This will include non-essential spends that are not budgeted elsewhere.
I have updated the results and pledges from last week's thread let me know if I have missed anything.
Have a good day everyone.Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

£30 for me, trying to type and eat breakfast, all going badly wrong.
Back later
*edit* At work now with 6 minutes before I start so yesterday I spent:
£7.99 on Persepolis (Graphic novel not the film)
£0.90 in Boots
£8.89 total spend so far!0 -
Hi,
I really need to get back into the swing of this!
Please put me down for £11.50 - which is what I have in my purse today.
Thanks.Natwest CC - [STRIKE]£2545[/STRIKE] now £0 :j
Overdraft - £2668 - to be cleared by February 2010

Oops - not a good start - ran out of eggs, dog food and milk - £4.35 spent in a flash - only 7.65 left this week - here's hoping for a few NSDs44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -
Well i had a good start as in i had a NSD yesterday and that's about as good as it's gonna get!
Where shall i start
£28 on my wedding shoes - this is from my wedding fund
£17 on groceries - thankfully from grocery fund
However this is where it goes wrong
I have spent £17.22 on a book and bits and pieces to send to my OH as he is working away at the mo. (includes nearly £6 for postage ) So in theory i cannot spend anything else all week.... however i have just booked bunny in for his mixy jab, who knows what that will cost!
So well and truly REDthis week and its only day 2.
Hope everyone else is doing much better.
ETOSPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Evening all (that sounds weird when it is still very sunny outside:cool:)
Today's spends:
- £1.35 on bus to work as I was running too late to walk
- £3 on bonusball payments as I was behind
- £3 on card at work for a latte and lunch
Really need to get lunch sorted out for the rest of the week or I have no chance of staying in budget.
ETO sounds like it has been a tough week and it has only just started. I hope your bunny gets sroted cheaply.
F_F I must confess I had never read a graphic novel but I must give it a go to see what it is like.Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

F_F I must confess I had never read a graphic novel but I must give it a go to see what it is like. There is something for everyone really with graphic novels, although I do prefer the more twisted ones like Preacher (One of the best series of books I have ever read, graphic novels or not) I had heard lots of good things about Persepolis (the film) but wanted to read the book first, and I'm really enjoying it so far. Often in these sorts of books a picture really will say 1000 words.
NSD for me today - I did buy chewing gum, but with leftover funds on a giftcard :rotfl: I still have a nice crisp £20 in my purse!0 -

I've not really read that many either. I bought the 1st book in the Ouran High School Host Club series (brilliant manga series, I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind trying to read right to left) ages ago and loved it, not sure what I've done with it though. And I'm slowly ploughing my way through Watchmen whenever I'm at my boyfriend's. That's pretty good too, even though it's a bit depressing for my taste. But I think that's the only ones I've read.
