Is this unfair? What should I do?

I was overjoyed to receive two letters from Barclaycard last November saying they were upping my credit limit by £2k on one card and £1k on another given that they have a good balance transfer offer I thought i could transfer the majority of my credit card balances to these cards and save a fortune in charges as well as paying off the amounts sooner.

I applied for the balance transfers online and each one was rejected by someone in their Indian call centre. When I called to find out why I was met by an array of misunderstanding and confusions, when I asked to be put through to the UK they said they couldn't and when I asked why it had been rejected they said they couldn't say either.

I complained and had a couple of letters from Barclaycard apologising saying the staff would receive extra training etc but the real problem is that as I was so much in debt I used the cards in the meantime to spend and one is up to its limit and the other one has some capacity and I can now transfer one card to it at least.

I know its my fault that I used the cards to spend when I should have saved them - if I could have - and tried to get things sorted out but is it all my fault or is it Barclaycards too?

It's your own fault for being a TROLL

No not a troll, this has actually happened to me thanks!!

Their last offer was to remove the interest charges for three months.

I was expecting a more helpful response than that - thanks a bunch just what you want when you're in financial problems. Thank you very much.

You spent the money, not Barclays, so it is your fault. Just because credit is available to you doesnt mean you are forced to use it. You really need to go on to the Debt Free Wannabe board and post your SOA.

Oh boo-hoo I'm in debt so of course it's someone else's fault.

It is 100% the banks fault for underestimating the risk in lending you further money.
