Best laptop for around £400?

Hi there

I am looking to help my father look for a laptop - he will use it mainly for surfing the web (wireless) & perhaps looking at photos now he has retired.

Budget is around £400. What are the best offers around?

Many thanks in advance

Screen size will have to be 15" upwards. No real issues about being a desktop replacement or haveing to be portable - will only be used around the house.

I have found this Acer one looking on eBuyer might be ok for him.

John Lewis sell the Toshiba Satellite L300-1G6, 2.16Ghz, 15.4 inch display, for £399. They do a free 2 year guarantee with all their laptops and are known for good service.
It is better to buy from one of their stores rather than using their online sales.
The Toshiba laptops have a good reputation and this new model even looks good in a new darker grey finish.
