I only ever use Tesco when they have a beer offer on and i can use a clubcard code that gives me more back in deals than the order comes to (online). Apart from that, IME avoid like the plague as they are becoming very expensive (certainly for our shopping habits). The amazing thing for us is we've moved to a supermarket that I would never have imagined could be the cheapest, but is and by a big margin - Sainsburys. For us, of course.

yes, I have too. Their continual, and largely unjustified, price increases was one step too many for me.

and me, except for reduced to clear and bogoffs.
  • I've stopped using them for my monthly shop. I only go there if I run out of milk and to get bread when reduced.

I changed to Sainsburys around Christmas time and they are way cheaper for us too :) OH stops at Waitrose/Sainsburys/Asda for top ups on the way home from work. The only time Tesco get our money at the moment is the DVD rental, but thats going to change soon too :D

ETA - not strictly true actually. Last month I did a £50 BOGOF online shop and used a £10 off code - £50 shop for just under £20 including delivery. Won't use them again til I get another 'We miss you' code and then I'll rinse and repeat :D

Sadly some of us only have limited choice where we live. We have local shops, Coop (3 of varying sizes in different locations), Lidl and Tesco. Thats it!
Not surprising that I made a trip to Asda, and Morrisons on my last trip off island!
The Cooperative can be expensive but is good quality, esp the fruit and veg, and the Elmwood Chicken is good too. They also have some good deals on just now and if you become a member you get a share of the profits twice a year ;).

  • I used to shop at Tesco's most weeks, until i went in there just after xmas and was shocked as to how expensive they are now. I used to shop at Sainsburys until a couple of years ago as i thought they were expensive. I have now started shopping there again as i find them alot cheaper now,and they have more choice on value brands, and recently their offers have been good. I do have a Lidl near to me,but again i have found that their prices have crept up recently. I would shop at Asda but my nearest one is 12 miles away

dont shop there anymore due to them being so unethical and refusing not to sell the very very cheap chickens.

I shop at marks and spencers, co-op and sainsburys and buy whatever is on offer and buy free range meat or organic meat from abel and cole.
