Hotmail sign in fails

Hi

Hope someone can help. Since yesterday afternoon i cant sign into hotmail. Ive tried deleting cookies, and all hotmails advice, to no avail. Im using firefox with Norton internet security. I have not installed anything in that time. Whats weird is that it was working in the morning, but stopped around midday. I know its not password issues, as i can sign into to MSN messenger, and i can access my hotmail through wap on my mobile fone. And i have no problem with any other website.

is it taking ages to load, but then the whole screen is just blank or is it giving you an error message?

Takes ages to load, screen blank, then comes up with this error message,

"The connection was refused when attempting to connect to by102fd.bay102.hotmail.msn.com"

Happens everytime without fail - since yesterday that is.

stupid question, it may seem.

Do you use ebay?...try to log in and see if it lets you.

There is a piece of malware doing the rounds on the internet at the moment which stops access to certain secure sites, hotmail and ebay being two of them.

I'd run a copy of mcaffee stingerand run spybot and adaware afterwards too...all the software is free...

Adaware found nothing. Ebay works fine, if a bit slow. Norton did show 3 virus', but hopefulyl theyre delt with now, and still no hotmail. Any suggestions, anyone? Thanks
