Hi LizzieS - no I didn't contribute to those costs, I just kept the household things covered...
Thanks hbgirl and tinasmummy - yep tis as I thought then (sigh)... oh well, I'll have to give my situation a complete rethink... I can't move coz now I'm jobless I'll not find anywhere else that'll rent to me without now a huge deposit like 6 months up front...
oh well you've answered my question anyway so thanks for all the help everybody
