I use mysupermarket.co.uk to check prices as I have my shopping delivered due to disability and so far every week Sainsbury's has come out cheaper than any of the other supermarkets..The dearest is Ocado, then Asda, Tesco is second and Sainsbury is cheapest..even including their delivery in my weekly shop.
I know everybody buys different things but even with 5 in our family I would much rather use Sainsburys even if sometimes its only a couple of pounds saved..it soon mounts up over a year.

I have not done a big shop at Sainsburys for years! Will have to check it out now. Never really considered they may be cheap. And nectar points too!

  • I just wanted to say thanks for all the hints and tips from people on both the Asda and Tesco threads. I've always thought that veg especially was overpriced. When I've got time, I think I'm going to start going to the local market instead.

When I went at the weekend they were advertising a roll-back on a cereal. Thing is it was a new cereal! How can you roll-back a price on a product that is new to the shelves?

    Day 1 - £1.99
    Day 2 - £1.98

Like most here I am very unhappy with Asda and Ive increasing trend in 3 for 2 "offers" which are not really offers.Rollbacks tend to be on items I would not normally buy with hikes on the prices on the items I do need. Ive used the Store for years but no more. Ive moved onto Aldi and Morrison's and whilst they are both a 15 minute drive for me, the stores are cheaper cleaner and the staff are faster.

Has anyone noticed with all supermarkets that if anything gets popular in the "value" range it gets discontinued?

I like the sardine & tomato paste and have noticed that it has disappeared leaving only the horrible beef and totally obnoxious salmon.

Am just wondering where this "ocado" is - I've never heard of it but it's on mysupermarket.com.

    Ocado is Waitrose I believe.
