Forget "Roll Backs" - Asda Price Hikes

Also does anyone else hate Asda's stupid website when you online shop. i think it is horrible compared with Tesco and Sainsbury's.
I completely agree with this and it is the reason I shop with them about once every 6-7 months. I do regular shops at tesco.com and saisburys.com and find them much easier to navigate, especially when it comes to finding offers.0 -
Hmm looks like the plan to back down building an asda super centre in the middle of my town came at the right time. No point in putting one there is its not as competitive.0

I like the Asda website and hate the Tesco site. So much simpler to scroll down a huge list than be shoved from page to page on Tesco's site just for the same items.
Price hike I noticed.
Aunt Bessies Roast Potatoes 2008 £1.
2009 £1.87.
Now on rollback to a £1~~~~~~~~~~~~Halifax, taking the Xtra since 1853:rolleyes:~~~~~~~~~~~~0 -
I use mysupermarket.co.uk to check prices as I have my shopping delivered due to disability and so far every week Sainsbury's has come out cheaper than any of the other supermarkets..The dearest is Ocado, then Asda, Tesco is second and Sainsbury is cheapest..even including their delivery in my weekly shop.
I know everybody buys different things but even with 5 in our family I would much rather use Sainsburys even if sometimes its only a couple of pounds saved..it soon mounts up over a year. Thanks to all comp posters:ADo not take life too seriously; you will never get out of it alive0 -

The price of smartprice Pitta Bread was 19p for a long, then recently went up to 25p. I went in last week it was on 'roll back' to 19p! I switched from Mr T to Mr A but am now seriously considering switching back.:mad:0

I completely agree with what everyone is saying. I work for the company and I am sick fed up with the hikes, poor service and such like. I have many customers complaining to me about the price hikes and i just say to them that's the big manager's bonuses. Also the pretence of the bag for life scheme (don't get me started on that one!)
But they are not only ripping off the customers, they are ripping off the staff too. About 2 years ago all staff was put onto the same wage band. This meant that if you started working for the company after 2002 (i think) you were on basic wage (flat rate) and if you started working for the company prior to that date you had to move to the new rate of pay (minus time and a half on sundays). This in theory meant that i would lose money per month. For that not to happen they gave staff a supplement to top up their pay, so they wouldn't lose money. But when the basic wage goes up for the 'newer' staff, our supplements go down, therefore freezing our pay altogether! Now that's what i call ripping off.
Now we do get a 10% discount for working for them. But to be honest, with all the prices going up i'm not that sure if it's really worth it.0 -
When I went at the weekend they were advertising a roll-back on a cereal. Thing is it was a new cereal! How can you roll-back a price on a product that is new to the shelves?Wins: Fillipo Berio Spray Oil0
