Decent brands for plastic primer and clear lacquer?

Looking to colour code my door handles so just getting a list ready of the stuff I will need:

- 800cc and 1200cc wet and dry paper
- Plastic primer.
- Ford moondust silver paint(will get from dealers)
- Clear lacquer

i dont think you could go to wrong using the halfords stuff properly,preperation is the key.......work permit granted!0

If you can find any in your Halfords there's some Foliatec interior remover that would probably be good for degreasing prior to keying and priming. It's a xylene based thing that's designed not to melt plastic. They may be in the bargain bins and should be £1.0

i used wipes like this once, they really dull down the plastic and make it a good base to paint or stick things to....work permit granted!0 -

Thanks for the advice guys!
I painted the handles a few weekends ago..turned out pretty good for a first attempt. Spent 3hrs fitting them on Saturday as the door cards were a PITA to remove.
Here is the result(sorry about the lousy pic!):

looks good from this distance anyway. ive only got 2 door cards so mine would be quicker.

Cheers.Well hopefully I have done a good enough job and the paint doesn't peel so I wont have to remove the handles again. Have to say it was worth it in the end. Cost just under £35 for the handles and all the bits to paint them which isn't too bad!"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
