The OP already knows that they are not his.
And to the previous poster, no I was not taking the p!ss.

Obtaining property, dishonestly, is theft in this country.

As things stand he has a legitimate right to them, unless there was any enclosed documentation that would give him cause to think he has been issued them in error.

If the company contact him before he uses the vouchers to tell him a mistake has been made, then that is a completely different kettle of fish.

I thought it would be common sense that if you recieved vouchers entitling you to a replacement T.V then you would think something was wrong, And maybe do the right thing and contact the company about it. And the vouchers themselfs act as documentation to think something is wrong.

alot of people going off on one here about theft and the like, if someone sent you an envelope with cash inside with your name and address on it you would be within your rights to spend it, it was sent to you so you are within your rights to assume it is intended for you, vouchers are no different.

now if they came with a letter saying something to the effect of "following your recent insurance/warranty claim we enclose these vouchers as agreed" then the company may have an arguement that you must have realised they were not for you since you hadn't claimed.

so if they came with documents which clearly show they were not intended for you don't spend them.

if simply came alone in an envelope with your name on then its upto your self what you do with them, a moral issue but not crminal as you are not stealing from them they have given you vouchers with your name on them.

imagine if you left an envelope out with the milk bottles full of cash, addressed "to the milk man" and then tried to get him done for theft if he took it.....the term not cat in hells chance comes to mind.
