suggestions for hanging basket - south facing

Unless you have a greenhouse I wouldn't plant it up just yet.
Think about your colour scheme, do you want full brights, pastels?
I have once tied two baskets together to form a ball (although I think you can buy balls now) and planted mass of impatients (Busy Lizzies) it was quite heavy, but looked great!0 -
Sorry to highjack the thread, but if you don't have a greenhouse then will the portable £20 ones do the job? Or will they not be warm enough?0

I have about eight already planted up with fuschia, lobelia, surfinia, nemesia etc etc. They are all under cover either in a cold greenhouse which is in full sun or in the slightly warm potting shed. Next step is hardening off which is a bit of a pain but worth it in the end. My health is not good so I really enjoy sowing seeds and taking cuttings during the colder months. By he way, if you do use fuschias don't forget to remove the tips to make them more bushy. I put these tips in a small pot to make another plant. Same with surfinia. There is probably something on the RHS site about hanging baskets and the BBC Gardening one too.0
