Should I post it off?

Hi there, first time post for me having been a reader on the board for a couple of years. I've received payment from a buyer on ebay for some tickets. She has a confirmed address, so I thought it would be ok - but she's left the following message:

Note to seller
Hi, I have bought these tickets on behalf of my friend. Please could you send the tickets out to her. Please send to <address removed>. Any problems please contact me. Thanks

Is this common practice on ebay?

Yes it is cmmon for scammers!

To be covered by paypal you must send those tickets special delivery to the address that is in the paypal box where they say 'OK to send'. Any other address and you will not be covered.

Can I suggest you have a read of the tips for new sellers post:

    Thanks Soolin.

I presume I should post it to the seller's address then, as that is confirmed, and get them to send the tickets on - the gig isn't until July anyway so they'd have plenty of time to pass them on. I send most tickets Special Delivery anyway - don't want the hassle if they don't get there. They've got good feedback etc but I don't want to come a cropper, or get negative feedback if at all possible!

You can ask the buyer to add the frineds address to the account as a gift address, but then you have the hassle of needing to refund the payment and getting paid again, and if they don't repay you are stuck.

Are the tickets close to the date of the event? This could be the reason they want them send directly. If this was the case and they were low value I would send them but only by Special Delivery and enter the tracking number into the paypal transaction details.

tickets are for an event in mid-July, so not too close to the gig date.

The only time this has happened to me previously was when the usual people from Lagos tried to 'buy' my old phone!
