HI,
I recently sold some things on ebay but have had a nightmare with unpaid items. 5 of the ten things is sold remain unpaid with no communication from the buyers after about 8 days. I've sent them invoice and polite emails ask when they are going to pay etc etc.
Now when I open a dispute I go through the form and put everything in. Click submit its says something like "your dispute has been opened successfully". But when I go to the resolution no disputes are showing ? I emailed ebay but they sent me 2 page reply on how to open an unpaid item ispute  What am I doing wrong ?

usually you have to wait seven or eight days (been a while so not sure which) then you can open the disputes, when you click on the sold item, in the drop down menue to the right of the transaction details select, report a problem, there is then a list of reasons/problems to report, select "i have sold an item and haven't recieved payment" by ticking the box to the left of it, then you are presented with some other options, like "the buyer has not responded" select one of these by ticking the apropriate box and click continue, your dispute should now be open.....
Have you done all this?0 -
Hi,
thanks taking the time to respond. I did do that after about 8 days since the items sold. Its been about 3 days since I submitted the unpaid disputes. But nothing appears in the resolution center. I don't know why. I'm not a new ebay seller and have a few hundred positive feedback, but I've never had anyone not pay up until now  . I've actually re-sold some of the items that weren't paid on BIN. But I could use the fees back as they were fairly expensive items.0 -
I don't know if there is some sort of glitch with disputes at the moment as I couldn't escalate to a claim last week. It might we worth sending an email to Paypal or giving them a call.0

Really not a good idea- if the buyer decides to pay then you can refund them- but they can still leave a negative.Hi,

5 negs dropping in at once, no matter what some people might tell you is not good.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

hi, after waiting 8 days to open a dispute, the buyer then has a further 8 days after this to respond..only after no response or if you decide not to complete transaction can the dispute be closed..
unfortunately, by selling these items as BIN you wont be able to claim any FVF, this can only be done after dispute closed (not on a mutual basis), & item relisted through ebay..hope this helps!

it does sound like a glitch, these happen sometimes with any site not just ebay, check your resolution centre over the next day or so and if they dont appear repeat the dispute opening process.
i agree with some of the others that selling the items on was not the best idea, not because you should have held onto them indefinately just in case this guy decides to pay, i think if after a week they haven't paid and can't be bothered to drop you an email to explain why they haven't paid then your within your rights to refuse payment and cancell the transaction, however if they do pay you are wide open to a barrage of negative feedback.
If you do get a reply handle this one with care, explain that you needed a quick sale and thought that the guy was not going to pay, and you were even more worried by his lack of reply to your emails so you relisted them after 7 days, and then just hope he accepts the fact he could have communicated better and just walks away from the sale without feeling the need to neg you.
Best of luck.0 -
Well I'm not one for messing around, If they cant meet the 7 day dead line or at least communicate the its tough. Negs don't bother me in the slightest . An ebay representive emailed me and said that there are no disputes open. Could I please try opening one again ? Well I did but nothing happened as usual. Must be a bug like ya all said.
Ebay's great sometimes

UPDATE
I managed to get it to work finally! I input the item no's in manually rather than copying and pasting them and it worked. Now do I have to wait 7 days from the day I opened the case or can I close it after 14 days from the sale date.
Thanks for your help.0 -
You can't close the dispute until 8 days after you opened the dispute. If the buyer responds then you can close it then.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
