DS RD4 Card, USB Key not reading

I recently bought 2 RD4 cards for my daughters DS's which inluded USB keys.

Whilst waiting for my new PC to be delivered I used my parents computer to successfully download games for my daughters DS's using the keys.

Now I have a new pc, I am having trouble with the USB memory keys supplied.

I know they work as I have downloaded games from my Fathers PC on to the keys supplied.

I know my USB port works as I have transferred the games from my Fathers PC using his USB memory Key.

But when I try using them on my machine, everything hangs, I loose all my Icons and even the task bar on the bottom of the screen.

If I manage to look at 'My Computer' there is no sign of any drives, including C drive. Yet if I use a different USB key, there are no problems, I can see the contents of the key as well as all other drives etc.

I hope I have explained enough.

Any help appreciated

Many thanks.

It sounds like the drivers for the microsd card reader are duff. There is nothing magic about the card reader supplied any one will do as the microsd cards in these devices are completely standard and so is the format used.
  • Right-click on My Computer and choose Manage

Right-click on your Thumbdrive and select "Change drive letter and paths"

Give it another drive letter and see if it sorts itself :-)

Try that it worked for mine

    Thank you for your reply

I have since tried the USB keys in a friend’s pc and they definitely work.

I have tried using a standard memory key in the same drive and have it works fine.

Therefore the drive is ok, the key is ok but it just doesn’t work in my pc and doesn’t show any drives and just hangs.

    I’m confused ???

    Help please !
