I went to buy some bed linen toay, and needed a kingsize fitted sheet for a deep mattress.
I brought the one I thought was correct to the cash till, asked if it was for a deep mattress and was advised I needed a different sheet. The young chap (looked about 18) went and checked on the shelf for me, but none there. He then, unprompted, said he would check on the system to see if they had any in the warehouse downstairs. They did, and he trotted off to get one for me (took about 5 minutes)
This was all done with a cheery smile, and no hint that it was of any bother to him.
It may not sound like much, but to me, on a busy Saturday afternoon, he did all he could to find me the sheet in a cheerful friendly manner.
It was completely different service when I took my son's school shoes back there a few months ago, as the sole had come away after one week's wear, and the woman in the kids shoes department was rude, surly and tried everything she could to avoid changing them, saying this sort of thing just doesn't happen and I would have to swap for the same style, and my son's feet were at fault as he must walk in an odd way to make that happen (until I showed her that the same design that was on display had the same fault!)
