    No matter how much people try and justify rolling contracts, the fact is they are an indication of the confidence the retailer has in their product. In essence, not much. BT know like you and I do that the GBP are an apathetic lot (which is why we usually get cr.apped on from a great height by commercial organisations). Rolling contracts + GBP apathy + (still) a monopoly in all but name = easy money. Helps to pay for the shareholder dividends when the share price is on its knees (but who's going to pay for the massive infrastructure expenditure needed?). The shareholder? Nope. The customer? Yup.

    The regulator should outlaw rolling contracts IMO.

    BT do give you a choice they dont make you take a rolling contract.Pay more for your bundle and you can leave when you like.
