laptop won't read certain cd roms

I am not sure if anyone can help me but would be very grateful.
My laptop will not run 2 cd roms that I have that I really need to use for work. They are commercially bought products (I am a teacher and they are educational software programs). The CD roms will run on every other computer/laptop I have tried them on, but they still will not run on mine, even though they used to. This is the error message I get when I try and run the disk:

"Access violation at address 7C9101B3 in module 'ntdll.ll'. Write of address 0034002F. "

My system runs on windows XP. If anyone has any ideas I would gladly try them as I am completely stumped

Id guess some software or infection is stopping them from working. May I ask what discs your trying to install?

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD NOW')
    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
    UPDATE and FULL SCAN
Post the log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

    reboot

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click DO A SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE (Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)

  • The disks are from a 100 lessons series - they contain worksheets and interactive teaching programs. They do not install as such but run directly from the cd rom. Have run the malware - it did not find anything. The log is below. Will reboot and try the other you suggested.

    Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.36

    Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3

Try putting the files onto your desktop first and install from there

Bit of a long story but have managed to get the disks to run by right clicking in my computer and getting it to open then dragging items to desktop. If will not run direct from the desktop but will when I drag it back into the box I created from my computer!!! Not sure how or why but it is working - thankyou for your help!
