Decking - Paint query

Hello

Just moved into a new house with decking in the garden, the decking has no preservative ( what I can see anyway) on it.
Went into B&Q yesterday looking at fence preservative( fence needs done too!) but noticed you can get seperate decking preservative.

The decking preservative is wayyyy more expensive so my question is can oyu use standard fence preservative on yer decking???

I wouldn't use fencing preservative personally.
I use clear decking oil on mine, it feeds, protects and enhances the natural beauty of the timber, provideing a hardwearing and durable finish!
    Get mine from https://www.tryrelics.co.uk
Decking oil isn't cheap but you need to preserve the decking correctly I think.
    Hope this helps.

If you like the original colour of your decking then use decking oil.

If you're not fussed then use whatever preservative you like.
