What ever next

I have hit the lowest point in my life.

I have recentley been evicted from my council home (didnt pay the rent because I wasnt earning enough)
Bank charges are beyond a joke, no money to cover DD's. Ihave canceled all my DD's but the charges are still mounting, I have lost my car (it was on finance)

I am now living with my boyfriend, I am job hunting and starting again from the very bottom.
It cant get any worse.

No it can only get better :)

Start with a SOA on here and let's see if we can come up with suggestions on how tol help you :)

One already obvious point is that the bank charges should be possible to recover :) Have a look on Martins main pages for money saving. There is an article there about it :)

What you need to do is contact ALL of your creditors immediately (that includes the Council if they are chasing you for arrears) and explain your situation. Explain that you have lost your job, lost your home & could they freeze interest/charges, they might want a token payment until you get back on your feet, so if you can only afford to pay £1 to each creditor a month, thats all you can repay.! You need to be honest with them & upfront, as if you ignore the letters/phonecalls (however scary they are!) then it will get worse and they will be less inclined to help you.

Have you recently lost your job? Anything else on the horizon?

I suggest that you sit down & work out EXACTLY who you owe money to and how much. The balance, minimum monthly repayment & the APR.

I was in a similiar situation, but it encouraged me to sort my life out for once and for all - as the saying goes, once you've hit rock bottom, the only way is up!!

Good luck, you can do it!!

WOW you are all very friendly, with this forums help and advice I may be able to claw my way back up to the top.

Job hunting is going very slow, e mailing, posting CV's every day, had a few interviews but as of yet nothing has turned up. Its just a waiting game me thinks.

I have buried my head in the sand for too long and its about time I took control of my debts hence needing a job, lol.

An SOA is a statement of affairs.

    It goes:

All Income with a total at the bottom.

All debts in the form, with a total at the bottom:
Who debt is with/Amount/Minimum payment each month/APR %

All expenditure with a total at the bottom.

    Hope this helps

    Debts (As of 10th September):
    Original - £7938.11, Now - £0

Matched Betting Profits (From 05/11/06): £1026.45 (of which £214.20 is cashback)

Can any one help with getting my bank charges back ? What do I need to do?

I think that would be the first step at the moment as money is ssoooooooooooooo tight, also I have let all the relevent peeps know my situation concerning lack of job and money, there is nothing they can do to me eg cant evict me, cant send the balifs round to my place. I have no bank account any more until I have wages to go in.

To be honest, even if the bank decides that they WILL refund the ££££, it might take a few days/weeks/months to do it.

First step is contacting your creditors. Can you take a p/t job or temp job in the meantime? Just so you have a bit of ££££ coming in?

They might not be able to do anything to do, however, they CAN place defaults on your credit file & take you to court, so you do need to respect this fact to a certain extent.
