I applied for this in September (for 10% off an expensive purchase, cancelled the card straight after paying the bill) and got £2k limit. As far as I can remember they didn't ask about salary etc. but I think I've got a fairly decent credit record.0

Don't know TBH, I had previously applied for an Asda CC just to use for Fuel and the 2p/Litre discount, GE Money would then only give me a £500 limit and when I asked for £1K they refused, took 6 months to get it to £1K.
Then they give me £5K for the Debenhams card, I didn't even request a limit, I was buying approx £350 of clothes before the discount, got asked if I wanted to save an additional 10% and went for it.
So I suppose it depends upon which way the wind is blowing
