East Midland Trains and Megabus

I have today travelled from London with a connection at Nottingham for my final destination.
We were exactly on time until East Midlands Parkway were the train was held for 9 minutes. It was announced that the delay was to enable a Megabus connection to be made. I missed my connection, and had to wait another hour.
Anyone had a similar problem?
Are trains stopping at East Midlands Parkway to be avoided?

Doesn't make sense - travelling FROM London there's no megabus connection to wait for - the connections are TO the megabus so no need to wait. It's the megabus that needs to wait if the train is late. Travelling TO London it would make more sense
There are only two megabus connections a day at EMP anyway, so it shouldn't affect many trains so not a great worry in that sense0 -
What train was it? Nothing has ran that late today from EMP - Nottingham.0
