Hello.
I recently had somebody from Switzerland check over a piece of German work for me, and I told them I would pay them £45 for it, which is about 75CHF.
Nat West want to charge me £20, whereas I can send it with Western Union for £12.
Is there an alternative, does anybody know?
Paying 25% of the fee just to send it seems incredible, and nearly 50% of the free to Nat West is scandolous!
Thanks!

Cash by international recorded delivery mail (should total under a fiver) is cheapest. Or forget the recorded part - under £1 probably
Note that SOME countries do not allow cash in the mail - I've no idea is Switzerland is one of them, but I doubt it.0 -
Get a travellers cheque in Swiss francs. You may have to tweak the amount to get the right amount.
You sign the cheque top and bottom and write payee's name in the middle.0 -

Electronic transfer from Halifax is £9.50, this is one of the cheapest charges you'll get from a bank, but it's still a big % of the amount you are sending.0

PayPal. Cheap and reasonably cheerful.0
