Am I right in assuming they charged £64 for the MOT? If so, that is about £10 too much. You could report them to VOSA for that.

if the parts were needed to pass the mot then he should have quoted for this, if it was extra unnecessary work then it shouldnt have been required to pass an mot.
it sounds to me as if he gave a rough low end off the top of his head quote. i.e. he quoted for a wiper arm but in the end up the wiper motor broke when removing the arm and then needed a new wiper motor. ( not saying thats what happened, just guessing) what garage and where abouts was it?

We asked him to fix the wiper arm--it was nothing to do with that. he replaced the suspension arm without our say so--and that wasnt for the MOT. When we complained he threatened to take off the wiper arm to get his money back .
Not willing to say which garage it was if you dont mind--it was a main dealer x

take off the wiper arm to get his money back, after fitting a suspension arm?

That's a good one...suspension arms should cost more I feel..I had one done as it flagged on the MOT as "advisory"...the part was about £35ish.

Damn sure I've not seen a wiper arm for that kind of dosh..that said, what I don't get from factors, I get from scrapyards.

Is this a Vauxhall perchance? Maybe..ooh..a Cavalier, Astra or maybe a Vectra? They're sods for arm wear..

NO its a scenic--BIGGEST mistake we've ever made--its been in a repair garage more times than its been in ours.

thats a poor show by a main dealer then, definatly get in touch with trading standards.
if he touched parts of my car as a way of getting his money back then he would be looking at a theft charge, he f**k*d up, he should have asked you about the additional work, he didnt.his fault.
