Kaspersky Help.

Can anyone help - yesterday I purchased Kaspersky Internet Security online. They emailed the license key number and instructions of what to do - save to my documents - then install the new software. But when I try to install it comes up with "The Installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete. This could be a result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus" I emailed for help to support@kasperskylab.co.uk - but did not get a reply. I have emailed again today - and again no reply.
Does anyone know what the telephone number is for there technical helpline? as they have only sent the help email address. Or if anyone can help with the problem - I am a 'very basic' computer user - so please don't be to technical.

all you need to do is download the kaspersky installer again, as the current one you have is corrupt.

use the same link that you downloaded it from 1st time

Thank you weeowe67. I phoned the techi support number and surprise surprise it was all automated. After about 10mins you are asked if you want to speak to an operator - if so press 1 - when you press 1 it repeats the whole dam thing again - I vented my anger down the phone to some computer generated voice - it didn't help me - but I felt better.

Thank you Gamingguy - I did as you suggested (saved it again from the original source) but the same problem occured when I tried to run it. I went onto the kaspersky support website - where it allowed me to download - I thought nothing to loose, so I did. I saved to my documents - I was then able to install (thank you lord). But after it had finished - flashed up OBSOLETE - update now - no idea what I was doing but clicked yes. So it looks like everything is ok -except for I ran a full scan - it detected c\programfiles\adobe\acroba....HIGHLY DANGEROUS. c\windows system 32\macrom.......VERY DANGEROUS.
So I am going upstairs to write out my will - and hide under my bed.
Thank you

the obsolete bit is just telling you that the program definitions are out of date and that they need to be updated - kaspersky should do this every hour (i think) automatically now.

as for those highly dangerous bits, if it said something about a vulnerability then you just need to update adobe flash and the adobe PDF reader.

Do I have to delete/quarentine the programs they mention first?
How do I update/how do I know which website to go on/does vista not update all this for me.
Sorry Gaming_guy but I've had this computer(my 1st) for about a year now - and I only ever used it for info off the net and typing documents. I joined this website after watching Martin Lewis - and I think it's great - very helpfull.
But I'm a real novice when it comes to problems. My very first internet shop was yesterday when I purchased kaspersky - then felt sick all night thinking I'd given my credit card details to some scam in the third world.
I think I need to enrol on a computer class for 'Twits' I wonder if one exists?

Adobe throws up the same alarm with my install of Kaspersky.

Both are up to date, so I just ignore it.

Have you removed your existing AV program first? You can't run two on the same PC, as most likely they will conflict. Remove any others, remove any remaining partial-installs of Kaspersky an then download it again from their website.

Were you infected before you installed it?

Which site are you downloading it from, "highly dangerous", and "very dangerous" don't sound like Kaspersky messages to me, but I could be wrong.
