£600 per month worse off!

Discovered last week that all my previous working tax credit and child tax credits have been stopped immediately! telephoned...and they were less than helpful to say the least! I have always updated details as my circumstances have changed and have requested letter that apparently was sent out last year!!!!! I am now in serious financial trouble! Will have to consider bankruptcy but at the very least get debt advice!!!! help???? At my wits end as to how to even last out to the end of this month never mind the long term future! has anyone appealed ( as I see from boards, you can) and won? Does anyone know if I can request all workings since claiming?

  • Hi Alba58,

I am in a similar situation where recently TCO have stopped my payments for 2009-2010 even though I am entiled to them, but not only that, they are saying I have overpayment for the whole amounts that have been paid over the last 3 years totaling over £10,000.

They did first send me a letter saying it was their mistake but only yesterday they threw this on me.

I used to ring them up as well with my figures.

Try not to worry I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable people on here will assist you very soon.

Have you kept the final notices that they send out detailing you income recieved and payments made to you in the previous financial year. If they all tally up with your p60 etc then child tax credits dept is in the wrong.

    Hope this helps a little

Did they explain why your payments have stopped?

    Hi there

Hope this sorts out very soon, fingers crossed, but I would contact your local CAB for as soon as possible, they should help you through this and even contact tax credits to sort this matter out, good luck.;)

Your last letter detailing payments/calculation will show the payments not just for 08/09 but 09/10 too. The actual award for 09/10 will be recalculated once the renewal packs come out.
