Iv had a book keeping programe at home for years, money manager is the one I use but im sure if you do a search you can find one for free. I find its brilliant as i know when DDs are coming out, how much i have in each account and on my cashcard, I even know to the 1p how much in my purse. The other good thing about them is as you put in all your receipts you can see how and where your money goes.. easier to cut back! (especially when you see you waste £10pw on sweets!) a good way to manage your finances. I know i work in the accounts field but they are not rocket science honest.

NM, I had one of them - tried to use it but gave up after a while as I couldn't carry it around with me! Once I've got it organised, I'll have one account for all my income and DDs/SOs and another for my daily living with an amount transfered across either each month or week - still trying to decide which is better for me as I get money at different times through the month! All I'm going to use is a little book so I can write down what I spend when I'm out and about as its only the daily spends in my 'living' account I'll need to keep track off. Funnily enough one of my debts is for a book keeping course I signed up for which never really got started as I had no details for the tutor and then lost interest! :o

Well didn't get my little book for accounts but have just done a plan in Excel and worked out what bits of my money go where! Gets complicated as wages and maintenance are monthly, CB is 4 weekly and CTC/WTC is weekly but I think I got there! Going to be tight this month but I'll have to not put money by for clothes, holidays, car maintenance etc and I might just get my £500 for BR fees!!!!!! :j

I had an hour long nap this afternoon - does that count? Apart from that I got my house cleaned (mostly) and went to work for a couple of hours.

Well I got off my backside today and went for a Wiltshire walk. A round trip from Avebury - up the Ridgeway for a bit and back.

I've done no serious walking for years and 3 miles is now the comfort zone for me. ...I c*cked the route up and ended up doing 8 1/2 miles. And now it hurts... I will need another 3 mile one tomorrow just to withdraw permission from my muscles for them to totally seize up...

Still, although a bit nippy it was a lovely day. And the countryside is in Spring overdrive - marvellous.
