One of the simplest ways is just to put adverts on the car and see who contacts you. My other half did this and he sold his 1996 ford mondeo estate in 12 hours.
    TSB: £4900
    Virgin: £4700

Today is the first day of the rest of my life...

Any reason why you don't want to go through the website? It will probably be the quickest option I guess. Plus you are willing to accept less - the difference between what you want and the amount they are offering should pay for the quick payment fee if you can't wait 3-4 working days for the cash.

WeBuyAnyCar said my old car was "worth" £50.
I put a sign in the local Tesco, signs in the windows and advertised on autotrader.com. Sold within a week of the autotrader advert for £440.
Your car will sell better if it has a brand new MOT, as then they buyer will know that nothing is "wrong" with it.

If you just need fast money and the car won't get a new MOT, then take the webuyanycar offer. If you can wait a few days and can afford to pay for an advert in autotrader (£20 for a car over 10 years old), then do that and you should get a lot more for it.

I would recommend the Auto Trader website. My Dad told me about this and I was a little skeptical, thinking that the local paper would be a better bet. However, I listed my car (a couple of years ago) with a good description and lots of photos, and it sold really quickly and I got more for it than certain people had thought I would!

So if its in the garage I could ask them to run the MOT now and even shelling out at the end you think I could get more for it?

If the car will pass an MOT, or at least won't cost you too much to get it through the MOT then it's definitely worth doing - makes the car much more saleable. Without an MOT buyers will worry that it could cost them a fortune to get it roadworthy.

Park it on the side of the road where there is a lot of traffic then put signs in the window displaying the price.
