As I said in my original post. You cannot dial 0800 numbers from Canada!!!

And as others have said the customer service email is absolutely useless if you want anything but an automated reply. I am sure that they never get seen by a real person just a computer searching for keywords that sends a standard useless message. This is a summary of the message I received when I asked for a non 0800 number:

"We're sorry that you are thinking of leaving us. What you should know first: .................blah........blah....etc.....etc....If you are still thinking of leaving us, please call us free on 0800 656 9000"

    Very helpful :mad::mad:

Thanks Never-in-doubt for the information . Its looks like it might help me get somewhere. I will give that number a try Monday morning.

I did find this on the Experian website during my hunt.
    h**p://w*w.experian.co.uk/www/pages/home/contact_us_main.html
Please replace the '**' with the correct letters. I cannot post direct links as I am a new user

It gives a landline for Experian and the 0800 for credit expert. I presume I could get one to put me through to the other. It is part of the same company after all. I will let you know how i get on. The number is:

"For business or any other enquiries:
    Tel: 44 (0) 115 941 0888"

    Hiya

Thats right use the local number I gave you, direct line to the compliance manager who can deal with your query.

Otherwise always good to check out http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php as they will change 0800 etc to regional numbers..... :D

Oh yes mate, well if you classify him as management! To be fair he knows his stuff but doesn't seem to ever back the consumer so its not him I hate - its the CRA's in general......

You subscribe to them separately. They are separate organisations.

    Equifax

    Experian

Deeeerrrr yes but cancelling Creditexpert/Experian is not straightforward either and who wants to give money to both of them :D

I didn't mean to imply you were stupid. I just didn't know if you were aware you could use both services.

Alot of people subscribe to both services, as Experian and Equifax can hold different data.

I for one use both Experian and Equifax.

Just to finish this thread off.
Credit expert cancelled my account via email after hanging it out just long enough to take another payment from my account
They did provide an overseas number that I never had to use but perhaps it will come in useful to someone here on the forum.

    "Our overseas number is +44 1159 410 888"

Credit Expert are useful for getting information about yourself but not good at all at the customer services. Good luck
