Reinstalling a dell vostro laptop?

I'm trying to reinstall a Dell Vostro laptop but am having issues. When reinstalling Home Premium it goes through all the steps fine until Completing Installation where it gets to 3/4 and then just stops. When I say stop the hard drive light etc becomes inactive and there doesn't appear to be any life, the progress bar stops but the little ..... etc continues.

how long have you waited? Installs can appear to stop for a few long mins. Make sure all usb devices are not connected and also network cable, pcmcia cards etcNudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0
