Family Death leaves debt... HELP
Comments

if he never divorced and he had left a wad of money then the law states his wife is his next of kin as they werent divorced.. how many times have we seen or read abt someone dying and as they never got divorced there so called ex wife got evertything and there new partner got nothing, even after 20 odd yrs.. so if this applies to money inherited mabey it might apply to debts im not sure. but i know when i got divorced i had to sign loads of forms so that my ex couldnt have a claim on my estate on the event of my death. Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear

This is not the case! You cannot inherit someone else's debts.Whoever deals with the estate of the deceased has to sort out any outstanding bills before distrubuting any monies or assets to beneficiaries or next of kin.0 -
