Help! Have been prescribed £90  (yes £90) worth of items.
All of which have given me unspeakable side effects.
I still have 90% of the items UNUSED, UNOPENED am I eligible for refund.
£90 is a lot of money - do you agree?
Any Advice greatfully received.!:money:

Are you asking if you can return the medicines to the Pharmacy for a refund? The seals may be intact but there are rules about storage of medication - could you prove you met these?
I doubt very much that a Pharmacy would accept them back as they cannot re-use them. Would you want drugs that had been given to someone else, taken home with them, maybe left on top of the radiator for a couple of hours and then brought back?
I really do sympathise with you as £90 is an awful lot of money but I don't think you've got much hope.
I hope you get better.0 -
I agree with Waggle Dancer, a pharmacist will dispose of the drugs for you, but they will not refund them.
Is there any reason why you could not get these drugs prescribed on the NHS?Gone ... or have I?0 -
i have same trouble one new type tablet and swell up like puffer fish ! the amount of money wasted is massive, shame they can't refund , even my doctor agrees , as i have to ask him to double check its a type i am ok with ! but old ones are always being replaced with new one which i could be allergic tothe truth is out there ... on these pages !!0

OK so how much is a private prescriotion. I've been recommended something by hospital that they prescribe but GP cannot do it it seems except by private prescriotion. Does it work out as drug fee, GP fee per item or what?0

Private prescription cost = cost of drug+ cost of dispensing/pharmacist charge plus charge made by GP (this may be waved, but don't assume/expect it will be, this is a non NHS service).0 -

SAdly I think you are stuffed, pharmacist will not be able to reuse the drugs so will take them back for disposal only.
Are these items not available on the NHS?0 -
Sometimes private prescriptions CAN be cheaper than NHS, strange I know!

Shame I already get my prescriptions taken care of with a pre-payment certificate. To have to pay again seems crazy especially as hospital have it on their prescribing list but GP its not so buy it yourself with a private prescription. Think I shall try and get stocked up by hospital when next there.0 -
think i've go to dentist now as cheaper and if you go to the vet your seen quick and given a chocolate sweet for being goodthe truth is out there ... on these pages !!0
