Brand new Dell Laptop arrived this a.m. pre-installed with Windows Vista. Changed one of the Power Options in Contol Panel, and now I can't get back to all the options. I get a "Your power plan information isn't available" preceded by a red cross icon.
How can I get back to the Default settings?

It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........
and it'll only take about another 100 years for mankind to really **** it up!!!!

Found a very simple solution which worked :j:j, so for anyone else with the same problem ......
Start Button
Locate cmd.exe
Right click on cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator
At the command prompt enter PowerCfg ‑RestoreDefaultSchemes
This will restore the default power plans and settings that came with your laptop. It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........
