There are loads of places you can chat and socialise on the Internet.
Just one example is Paltalk . This is free if you only want to type, talk and play or listen to music. If you pay (about £42 a year I think) , you can watch other people's webcams too.
Warning: There are 'adult orientated' chatrooms there. Avoid if you are not broadminded and they're not suitable for under 18's0 -

Also falling into the latter, legitimate, category are chat lines, tarot lines, horoscope lines and so on (although many of those use 09 - more widely recognised as premium rate - numbers).
Almost certainly, every such number 'points' to a standard geographical number (saynoto0870.com sometimes reveals those) but that site is less inclined to offer assistance in finding those for 'legitimate' uses.
I think you may have to come to terms with the fact that like, say, a golfer, your hobby costs you money. OTOH (as you say), like the golfer who can limit the number of rounds he has, you have total control over the cost by deciding on the number of times you call.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Tend to agree with Heinz. I suppose it's a bit like an alcoholic who finds a cheaper supply of alcohol, it very probably won't cause them to spend less but drink more? Try and treat it like a hobby (I know golfers who are what I would call addicted to the game, for instance) but realise the actual cost of your hobby is entirely in your hands.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0
