It would work but I doubt you will save anything buying in the US. I go over there regularly and to be honest things like Apple products are the same price over there as they are here. I suspect Apple keep pretty tight control of prices on their products.
If you are going away you might be better buying in the tax free shop at the airport. I saved a fortune buying my Macbook that way.0 -
There used to be substantial savings to be made buying in the US, but with the current exchange rate, not so much any more.0
