How can I move out to Colorado?

OK, so I lived out there 2003 - 2005 and loved it. I only came back to get a proper job and because my visa ran out (though I probably could have got it renewed - H2b visa).

I teach now and am married to a man who REALLY wants to move out there too! I was wondering if anyone could offer us advice on the best course of action for getting there.

Any ideas? Please please please.....

I really miss the place, I feel constantly homesick for it (which is crazy I realise).

I have a cousin from the UK who moved out to the USA quite a few years ago, she's not online at the mo, but I will send her a message and find out how she actually went about it...will let you know as soon as I hear back from her.

Probably stating the obvious but it's been a long day and I'm getting tired but couldn't the US Embassy give you the information you need. Good luck and hope you fulfil your dreams. What a lovely place to escape to.

Ohh which part of Colorado, my brother spent a year in Boulder, it is certainly a stunning part of the world, I visited and loved it too, the mountains and the prairie, its gorgeous! Bought some cowboy boots in Estes Park I'm totally addicted now and keep having to order more from the states! Good luck!!

    Ok
Spoke to my cousin, and she told me you have to find a job thatwouldn't really take skilled work away from American citizens. You also need an employer to back your Visa.
She said the best way to start is go to the American Embassy in London, they could tell you more.
    Hope this helps...and good luck

Thanks. The problem with the getting a job and getting someone to sponsor you is that as a teacher it is VERY expensive for a school to sponsor you - and it's unlikely to happen.

I've found the VIF program but there are sooooo many mixed messages about it - and they don't do Colorado. I've put my name down for more info when they start their next cycle anyway.

I'm going to go to an emigrate show as well but the soonest one is October!! I'm not in a massive rush but I wanna research and get as much info as possible.

I totally lived the dream when I was out there....summit county. I lived in Breckenridge - and it doesn't get better!! But I'm open to anywhere in Colorado. I've a feeling I'll have to get in by starting work somewhere else possibly.

Once I've been to the Emigrate show I'm gonna look into getting my qualifications converted to see what my quals are and check they are up to scratch over in Colorado (I think they should be) and then start contacting the relevant people. Thats the plan so far anyway.

Went she moved over, she was an au pair, but ended up working as a full time nanny. She has since married an american and they have a family, and she is a full time SAHM now. She has also worked as a receptionist in a medical centre over there.
