Ok thanks for the advice folks - its going back on Monday. It was a genuine mistake and I could do without the agro if they find out and its stashed in my garage.0

Interesting - as I understood it, if you intentionally try to benefit from the error of others it is defined as theft, and after 6 years they lose the right to claim (through some legislation that I am ignorant of), but that still doesn't seem to make the items your property?
Fairly academic anyway - you would have to keep them unused in their original packaging for 6 years, which would be a bit pointless with most current electronic gadgets...0
