Hen do etiquette...

A colleague of mine sent an email explaining that they were unable to invite work friends to their wedding but really wanted us to go on her hen night. Most people invited attended and didnt have a problem with not being invited to the wedding

I guess it depends on the size of the hen do and the size of the wedding but...
If I was invited to a hen do I think it would be a bit cheeky not to invite me to the wedding.
I think its because everything costs so much. If you are having a small wedding then I guess I'd expect a small hen do (just a few drinks or something). Maybe different if the wedding is abroad. Maybe its as I'd only go to the hen night of someone I know well and therefore would think i would be going to both.

On this reasoning there are a few girls who aren't coming to my hen night I'd of like to come. OH put his foot down and said he didn't agree to them drinking in the same building as his folks (which i sort of agree with) so no wedding invite.. I've kept the hen night very quiet from them as I thought its just asking for trouble.

But maybe thats just me
