Dixons/Currys washing machine woe

Just a vent really....

I was overall quite impressed by the speed of delivery and the installation of my new Samsung Washing machine. The chaps were very nice and even gave me a quick tutorial.

However, when I came to do my first load the washing machine shook violently when it tried to spin (louder than you can imagine and wouldn't settle even with all my weight pushing on top (I'm a big guy).

I then took it out of it's hole and it was in the middle of the kitchen - I tried the spin section again and within 5 seconds the machine had travelled about three quarters of a metre across the floor, with all the elegance of an elephant doing ballet.

Anyway, here lies the vent - after finally getting through to someone at Dixons (worst phone system ever), I got transferred to Samsung who had asked me if the installation guys had removed all the bolts for the drum. I said yes as I had a bag of big bolts given to me. Turns out Samsung have 5 bolts on most models - the installers only removed 4.

Hopefully my attempts at a spin cycle haven't damaged the drum and hopefully this is the cause of the problem, and the machine will live happily ever after. According to my display I am now about 23 minutes away from finding out if I'm gonna tango with the washing machine in the middle of the kitchen again.

Dixons help line is such a load of crap. I will never buy from them again - Two call backs never happened... they just don't care after they've delivered the goods.

Fingers crossed

The same thing happended with the hotpoint washer dryer I bought from Dixons a couple of weeks ago. It was as if it was auditioning for Britain's Got Talent (well it moved better than Carty Todd!).
It was easy to fix though. I checked the manual and it seemed to suggest that the machine was playing up because it was not level and sure enough after a few trial and error twists of the machine's feet, I managed to settle it right down. I guess this may be your problem too.

Have to agree--we got a washing machine delivered from them but the men didn't leave a second box that was supposed to come with it. They were gone in a flash and didn't stop even tho DH ran up the road after them!!
Tired to phone the store who said that they couldn't contact the van to get it to come back and no they don't carry mobile phones!!!!!!!!!!!
    will never use them again.
