PS - I'm not a pimp, live in a halfway house or have any for sale. It's all above board.
However, donations for their keep will be appreciated.0 -
I think i have about £300 for a big shop and 2 weekly shops to top up, that is for 2 of us but my OH is obbsessed with brands and i simply cannot scrimp as he know sno matter what(weaning him isn't an option).
Most months however we do spend under that as i need ahem my ladies stuff like make-up,clothes lol .
The pets get about 50-70 a month depending on what i need, that is for 3 cats and 1 GSD dog, i tend to buy the pet food in bulk, say one month 50 on Pro-plan for the cats and meat on offer, then the next month loads of litter and so on....works out better that way.
Where we are concerned i try to save but it doesn't work lol i a, however going to sort out my shopping and re-evaluate it

I aim for £200 per month for me, t'other half and our two cats. This is for food, cat food, cat litter and toiletries as well as any cleaning products needed.
I have joined the Grocery Challenge for this month and my month runs from the 23rd to the 22nd, so I am ahead for this month :j (Figures are in my signature)
I'm using the amazing wealth of recipes and ideas on the site to teach myself to cook tasty, nutritious and most of all money-saving food.
As a recent convert, I would also advise you to buy a slow cooker

I spend £100 pw (£200 at xmas), so thats £442 pm.
But thats everything I get in the supermarket (cleaning stuffs & some toilitries too), my eggs from the farm & my organic bread from the bakery.
Usually don't include pet food, as I can't buy mine in the supermarket.0 -
I am aiming for monthly total (6 of us), of £300. Going to be over slighly this month, as doing the grocery challenge(great thread.), but I found ways I can improve next month she says:rolleyes:.Grocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.
Grocery challenge july £300/£134-85.0 -
We spend what we can afford.
I did do the Grocery Challenge but found I am better sticking to my own little budgets as the GC actually made me want to spend more than we do now!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Two adults in my household and I shop for us every second week. My current budget for my half of the grocery shopping is £92 a month, or £1100 a year. This is not supposed to include toiletries or cleaning products, but I have been including the taxi home (£5 a fortnight or £130 a year!).
I pay for my own toiletries, which I budget at £15 a month. Mr. Fire Fox is too lazy to shop for his own (expensive branded) toiletries so tries to add them to the supermarket shop but I frequently 'forget'!
Cleaning products I mainly buy in bulk online and again budget separately at £15 a month between the two of us.
Mr. Fire Fox pays for all takeaways as I wouldn't bother with them if I had to pay. I pay for my wine which I either put on my entertainment budget or buy with survey luncheon vouchers. :beer:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I shop whenever I feel like a trip to a supermarket, but the budget is monthly. For the last few years it's been £100 per month for just me, plus milkman deliveries at £10 (usually less). This covers all food, alcohol (unless buying a case in bulk or wine/spirits for Christmas), household/cleaning stuff and most toiletries, and I find I can come in under that target without too much trouble.
I love food shopping and try to pick up as much reduced stuff as I can and freeze it if necessary. Buy frozen veg quite a lot - often much cheaper than fresh - and have this with dinner most days. I don't specifically meal plan, but cooking one big chilli or curry padded with lentils provides anything from 4 to 10 portions. Even a supermarket quiche lasts 3 days with salad or veg. I often make my own desserts or buy ww when they are on special offer.
NB This budget doesn't cover eating out or takeaways which only happens when I have visitors staying (once every two or three months).0
