Who pays for bad air con regas?

Took car to garage.
Car was put on the machine, system was tested, system held pressure and the air con was regassed.
I paid and left.
Now, pressure held that day, next time I used the car, 3 days later, the system did not work.
Went back to garage, they stated there was no presure in system, refused me a refund as they said there must be a small hole in the condenser.

Should the garage refund?

Not if there is a hole in the condenser. Is there?

Must have been a small leak to release it over 3 days, but slow enough to suggest it was sealed during the test.

You must have taken it there for a reason in the first place so it is likely you already had the leak. Maybe if they had left it connected for 24hrs they would have noticed it.

I'm not suggesting you knew it had a leak, rather you took it in because it wasn't performing as it should.

edit: I've had cars for years and not had them regassed. I only regas them if the Air Con isn't performing correctly
