  • Those pictures are lovely, Haribo!

Lil-me - just seen yours, too. I agree that it's a fashionable look, but I'm with you - I prefer a wooden kitchen, even though they amy appear a bit dated atm

  • Wow folks

Love the kitchens. I think I will need you all to help me plan mine which is scheduled for early next year. My kitchen is really quite small so will have to ensure I don't do anything too dark. Want to take the opportunity to put decent flooring down in kitchen and then all the way up the hall and also into the porch. Probably laminate.

  • Has anyone noticed how many cats have snook their way into the photos?

  • Wow HariboJunkie I have serious kitchen envy! Your kitchen is exactly the style I'd love to have.

  • OMG I'm not posting a pic of my kitchen after that one. I'm in a tiny, poky terraced house with a kitchen which is literally 6ft by 10ft. I think elvis bloggs could fit about 6 of my kitchens in hers. The walls are yellow paper with a pattern on and the back of the oven is done in royal blue mosaic tiles. One one wall there is only room for the oven, the fridge and the washing machine and thats it!!! On the other wall is the sink and 2 small cupboards (and people wonder why I havn't got a set of saucepans!!). The cupboards are all cream coloured and the oven is new (I bought it in November) but it is called 'Victoriana' so it is made to look old. The limited space of work tops has the toaster, slow cooker, coffee perculator, kettle, yogurt maker, microwave and cd player on them so there is hardly any room for anything else.
That sounds just like mine blacksaturn. I am not posting a picture either. I do have wall units on one wall though, so most of my stuff is on top of them. Climb on a chair to get mixing bowls slow cooker etc. Not only that my kitchen leads to my bathroom so anyone going to the loo gets right in my way.

  • I can't take a picture at the moment as I'm round my parents and not my flat so I'll try and describe mine to the best of my ability.

On the back wall you have the over cabnets and extraction fan. Underneath are cabnets and draws aswell as the oven/hob and the washing machine.
On the right wall you have the sink and the sink cupboards. Next to that is a little fridge and then next to that you have a big freezer.
On the left where the windows are we have fashioned ourselves a worksurface with cupboards and draws underneath aswell as a bigger fridge. Right at the end of this fashioned work space we have a big fridge freezer pointing towards the living room (as it's open plan).
We then put a breakfast bar in that has a cupboard and draw unit underneath aswell next to the Big fridge freezer so to make a square-ish more defined kitchen area.

This works well for us as there are 5 fully grown adults in the flat so storage is a must have as is plenty of fridge and freezer space.

I only have a small kitchen. it's about 10ft long by 6ft wide. There's so little room for anything in there. I have just about got room for the washer and under worktop fridge. My chest freezer resides in the front room of the house along with a table and a two storey rabbit hutch  . Good job that we tend to live mostly in the back room :rotfl: It's a teraced house with a small yard, so there's little room for any storage. The lack of space (especially in the kitchen) does get me down at times, but I still enjoy doing the odd bit of baking.

Some lovely kitchens in this thread, BTW:D
